EAC Anthem Cut Short, Other Lapses Witnesses During Mwai Kibaki's Othaya Funeral Service.

The Kenyan defence forces have put up a meticulous performance in giving the former president a send-off fitting for a former commander in chief. 

However, despite their precision in conducting their ceremonies, the military are human and are subject to few lapses that escape their watchful eye. From Allan Makana breaching security during Kibaki's funeral service at Nyayo Stadium to a military officer tripping and falling at Kibaki's grave, all was in the full glare of the media. 

EAC cut-short Arguably one of the biggest lapses that went unnoticed by most Kenyans was when Kibaki's body arrived at Nyayo Stadium.

The KDF was forced to cut short the East African Community Anthem when the Chief of Defence Forces of the Kenya Defence Forces, General Robert Kibochi, invited President Uhuru Kenyatta to sit down.

This forced the band that had already begun playing the marching bass drums to stop. This was peculiar, unlike the Kibochi, who has built a reputation for precision.

Muheria stayed composed throughout the ordeal before handing him over to the waiting security officers who whisked him away from the public glare. "He's a son of a nation, who is emotional at the loss of our president. Treat him well," Muheria said.

Raila's bodyguard stopped There was drama pitting one of Raila Odinga's bodyguards against the military police manning the VIP entrance at the stadium. The ODM leader was in the company of his wife Mama Ida Odinga when he joined other dignitaries in honouring the late Kibaki.

After alighting from his vehicle alongside his wife, Raila walked to the VIP entrance and ultimately gained entry into the stadium. However, the bodyguard who towed on Raila could not be allowed after officers from the Presidential Escort and military blocked him.

Woman attempts to reach William Ruto A drama almost ensued after security intercepted a visibly elderly woman who made a run to the dais where Deputy President William Ruto addressed the mourners from.

She traversed the audience towards the deputy president, but the security on standby pounced on her before she could move further, whisking her away.
