Fred Ekiru Amurio a former pupil at Lokwii Primary School in Turkana East on Wednesday stepped up his journey of becoming a neurosurgeon by joining Form 1

However, Fred’s story has inspired many Kenyans due to the humble nature of the background he comes from and how his parents took the initiative of escorting him to school.

The 16-years-old boy scored 403 marks in the just ended Kenya Certificate of Primary School Education (KCPE) and was selected to join the prestigious national school, Kapsabet Boys High School.

Kapsabet Boys has in the recent decades among the dominant best performing secondary schools in Kenya national examinations.

The parents had earlier lamented the lack of school fees but thanks to the Equity Foundation, Wings to fly program that came to the rescue of the bright and needy young man.

”My heart is full of joy. With God all is possible. Thanks to Peter Munga’s Equity Wings to Fly Foundation that has firmly stood with poor students from marginalized counties like Turkana. This is Fred from Lokwii, Turkana East. All the best. God bless” Tweeted the MP
