New Strategies to Enhance the Effectiveness of Operation Maliza Uhalifu in the Northern Rift Valley Region to Combat Banditry and Livestock Theft.

In Kilgoris, Narok County, Kenya on Saturday, March 30, 2024, a briefing was held with President William Ruto regarding the current status and proposed new strategies to enhance the effectiveness of Operation Maliza Uhalifu in the Northern Rift Valley Region to combat banditry and livestock theft.

In attendance at the briefing were CS Intererior and Administration of National Government Prof.Kithure Kindiki, Raymond Omolo (PS, Internal Security), Eng Japhet Koome (IG- NPS), Douglas Kanja (DIG- KPS), Noor Gabow (DIG- APS), Abdi Hassan (RC, Rift Valley), and Tom Odero (Police Commander, Rift Valley). The discussions focused on the implementation of measures to address the ongoing challenges in the region and to improve the coordination and cooperation among the various security agencies involved in the operation.

The meeting underscored the importance of a unified approach in tackling the security threats in the Northern Rift Valley Region and emphasized the need for enhanced intelligence gathering, strategic deployment of resources, and collaboration with local communities to effectively combat banditry and livestock theft. President Ruto expressed his commitment to supporting the efforts of Operation Maliza Uhalifu and ensuring the safety and security of all residents in the region.
