importance of using it for positive purposes.

Toxic Culture of Cyberbullying

It is truly disheartening to see how quickly society can turn on someone, especially in the age of social media where rumors and accusations can spread like wildfire. The recent tragedy of Collins Kipkorir a.k.a Cherinyit's death has shed light on the toxic culture of cyberbullying and public shaming that exists within our community.

It is easy to point fingers and assign blame after the fact, but everyone must also take responsibility for his/her own actions. The same people who were quick to share stories of Cherinyit's alleged wrongdoings are now coming out to clear their own names, as if they were not complicit in the public humiliation that ultimately led to his demise.

The bloggers who contributed to the negative narrative surrounding Collins must also reflect on their role in his tragic end. While it may have seemed like harmless gossip at the time, their words and actions had real consequences for a young man who was already struggling with his own demons.

Instead of using social media as a platform for judgment and condemnation, everyone should strive to show empathy and understanding towards those who are facing difficult times. Everyone must remember that behind every headline and scandal, there is a real person with real feelings and struggles.

Without any fear of contradiction, in the end, those responsible must all take a hard look at themselves and the way they interact with others online. End cyberbullying! Rest in peace, Collins Kipkorir, your legacy will live on.
