Kenya Reaffirms its Unwavering Solidarity with Haiti.

President of the Republic of Kenya, Hon. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, has welcomed the formal Proclamation by Decree establishing the Presidential Transition Council (PTC) of the Republic of Haiti. This decision is a testament to the collective courage and sacrifice of the Haitian Council of Cabinet in their efforts to create a Haiti free of violence and to establish a new democratic administration. President Ruto looks forward to the PTC acting swiftly to appoint the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

President Ruto also commends the leadership of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) for their dedicated efforts in facilitating the intense consultations that led to the formation of a Presidential Transitional Council that represents the diverse segments of Haitian society.

Kenya expresses confidence that the new political leadership in Haiti will lay a solid foundation for resolving the crisis in the country, restoring security, facilitating a political transition for the Haitian people, and promoting sustainable peace and development.

Furthermore, Kenya reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with Haiti and stands prepared to contribute within the framework outlined in the UN Security Council Resolution 2699 of 2023.
