Pneumonia, a common and treatable infection, should not have been allowed to progress to the point of causing death.  According to reports, Rita Tinina had been sick with pneumonia, a potentially life-threatening infection, yet no one seemed to have noticed. How could she have been suffering from such a serious illness without anyone realizing the severity of her condition?  Furthermore, it is puzzling that Rita Tinina, an employee of NTV Kenya  which provides medical cover for its staff, did not receive the necessary treatment for pneumonia.
